The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) has been present in Mexico for 35 years. The CFLI has worked with Mexican civil society since the 1985 earthquake to contribute to the well-being of local communities and the most vulnerable populations, on issues such as sustainability, gender, and access to justice, among others.
The CFLI is part of Canada’s international assistance, and shows Canadian values in the projects that have been supported throughout these 35 years. The work of the CFLI in Mexico is a testimony of the links between our two countries that go far beyond commercial exchanges, since they encompass a wide range of ties that we have built together during almost 80 years of diplomatic relations.
The Canadian Embassy in Mexico expresses its deep appreciation for the valuable and tireless work that civil society carries out in Mexico. This work is building the conditions every day to deliver a fairer society in the hands of future generations. We are proud that the Canada Fund can be a part of these efforts.
This video is as a thank you to all the organizations that have shared their achievements with the CFLI and to the communities that have been part of its work throughout these years.
